Coronavirus and School Network Concerns
Due to coronavirus concerns, students will not be returning to school for the rest of the 2019-2020 School Year. Governor Kay Ivey issued this statement outlining alternate methods of instruction set to begin April 6, 2020. We will post additional information as it becomes available.
Please pardon our progress, we are currently upgrading our network and server systems to better protect against cyber attacks. Please follow us on the Jasper City Schools Facebook page for updates and announcements.
We urge you to stay safe by following recommendations put forth by public health officials regarding coronavirus.
The police department will add a uniformed, tactile officer to patrol Jasper City Schools. SPOs are trained on intelligence gathering, early warning systems and signs, as well as threat assessments. The officers will conduct informational and training sessions for teachers, students, and school staff on emergency safety practices. The SPO program will be one piece of the comprehensive school safety plan to help keep students and staff safe. Dr. Jackson stated, "We anticipate the SPO program will help bring an added layer of security to schools. There is nothing more important than keeping our students safe."
