Coronavirus and School Network Concerns
Due to coronavirus concerns, students will not be returning to school for the rest of the 2019-2020 School Year. Governor Kay Ivey issued this statement outlining alternate methods of instruction set to begin April 6, 2020. We will post additional information as it becomes available.
Please pardon our progress, we are currently upgrading our network and server systems to better protect against cyber attacks. Please follow us on the Jasper City Schools Facebook page for updates and announcements.
We urge you to stay safe by following recommendations put forth by public health officials regarding coronavirus.
The Jasper City School System has been in regular communication with local and state public health and education officials regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Based on these conversations, to ensure the safety of all students and employees, Jasper City Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16th. This includes closure of all school facilities and cancellations of all school-related activities. If your child has medication that needs to be picked up, only a parent or guardian may pick up. Medication may be picked up in the morning, March 16th between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. At this time, the plan is for schools to remain closed and reopen on Monday, April 6th.
We are working with local community agencies to coordinate food items to be distributed to students. More information will be provided as these plans are finalized.
This is an unprecedented situation, fluid and changing quickly. We encourage you to continue to follow the guidance of public health officials during the closure, and monitor your phone, email and the Jasper City Schools' website for future messages from the school system. We will continue to assess the situation and keep you updated throughout the closure.
