Students in grades three through ten will take the ACT Aspire assessment during April. Students in grade ten took the assessment this week and students in the elementary and middle school plan to test next week. This assessment is given to students across the state of Alabama and is used to measure student achievement in Reading, Math, English, Science and Writing. Rita Pilling, Director of Assessment and Accountability remarked, "Our teachers work very hard teaching their curriculum and challenging every student to set and reach new academic goals. The ACT Aspire is one measure that affords our students an opportunity to highlight their achievement potential."
Parents can go to the Assessment and Accountability link on the JCS webpage to read more about the statewide assessments. Students in grade eleven will be assessed on the ACT with Writing test on April 19th.
