Walker's Maddie Harrell won the Class 6A 60-meter hurdles during final day action at the AHSAA indoor track and field championships at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham on Saturday, February 4th.

The Walker senior scorched the field in the Class 6A 60-meter hurdles at the State Indoor Track Meet, finishing with a time of 9.01 seconds, which was well ahead of second place finisher Jasmine Griffin of Homewood, who had a time of 9.17 seconds.
Harrell and Jodi Ann Martin paced the Walker girls, who finished in 8th place with 27 points. Homewood won the girls state championship.
Harrell had a pair of top-three finishes. She also placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.87 seconds. Griffin won the event in 7.70. Martin placed in two events. She was third in the 3200m (11:48.68) and eighth in the 800m (2:30.29).
The 4x800m relay team of Anna Mobley, Carlee Muncher, Ellen Richardson and Jurni Cummings placed fifth in 11:05.40.
On the boys side, Walker’s Thomas Mobley was second in the 800m with a time of 1:58.13 and fifth in the 1600m in 4:33.90.
Walker’s boys placed 14th with 12 points. Opelika won the boys 6A championship.
Addison’s Emee Baldwin had a pair of top 10 finishes in the 1A-3A competition. She took third in the pole vault with a height of 9 feet, 6 inches. She also placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.40).
