During the 2012-2013 year, JCS teachers will move ahead with technology and the expansion of 21st century learning tools. Across the district administrators and teachers will participate in a year-long focus on blended instruction and use of the Intel curriculum to promote higher-order thinking, collaboration, and 21st century learning.

Barry Wiginton, a certified Intel trainer from the University of North Alabama Inservice Center, conducted training with JCS administrators on May 31, 2012.  Principals and lead teachers from each school will participate in Intel train-the-trainer professional development and conduct training for all teachers at each school in August.  Following Wiginton's presentation of an Intel overview at the annual JCS  institute meeting on August 17, 2012, teachers will begin work to integrate the Intel curriculum into actual classroom instruction.
