Pageant Practice: Practice for the pageant will be Thursday, January 24 during 5th period/6th period and Friday, February 1 during 1st period. Practice is mandatory. There will be a deduction of five points from your overall score if you do not attend at least one of these mandatory practice. Each girl will practice walking on stage. You may bring your pageant shoes for practice. Also, each girl will draw numbers for the lineup & vote on Miss Congeniality on January 24. If you have a conflict with an extracurricular JHS activity, please let Mrs. Gann know prior to practice.
Pageant Night: On the night of the pageant each girl must be in the JHS Drama room by 5:30 PM. Teachers will pin your number to your dress and line up all contestants in order. Due to lack of space, no parents or friends are allowed to be in this room past 5:30 PM. Please tell your friends and family about this in advance! No exceptions will be made for anyone. If you would like to have your picture made, pictures will begin around 4:30 that night. A payment sheet is attached to this form.
Tickets: The price for general admission tickets at the door is $5. All proceeds from the pageant will go toward the Jasper High Varsity cheerleading program.
Awards: Depending on the number of entries , there will be a top 10-15 per grade level. A top five for each grade level will be given the title of 4th alternate, 3rd alternate, 2nd alternate, 1st alternate, and Queen. Alternates will receive a trophy. The Queen will receive a crown, banner, and trophy. Specialty awards will be given to Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic who will receive a trophy; Best Dress and Prettiest Hair will receive a banner. All contestants are allowed to enter Miss Photogenic at no extra cost. Contestants must bring ONE colored or black/white 5x7 picture in a manila envelope labeled with her first/last name, grade level and homeroom teacher. Pictures will be available for pickup after the pageant. No professional pictures! No late pictures will be accepted.
Note: Queens will ride in the JHS Homecoming parade in the fall. Queens are not allowed to participate in the JJHS pageant the next year due to crowning.
